Special Note for 8th Grade Parents - Cardigan Dismissal Information

October 13, 2017

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I want to communicate with you the pick-up procedure regarding eighth grade students returning from Mt. Cardigan on Wednesday and Friday of next week. If it is at all possible, we ask that you allow your students to be dismissed at the regular time (3:15PM) through the typical means (end of day announcements).

When the students return from the trip, there is a lunch provided for them. Once the lunch is over, students will work with teachers to begin to finalize the trip. Camping/hiking gear will be cleaned, inventoried, and stored. Students will begin to share data that is necessary for summative assessments that will conclude the unit. It is important that the students are here to complete these tasks.

As always, you have the right to sign-out your student prior to dismissal. If you need to dismiss your child prior to 2:35PM, please enter the building through the Main Office Entrance and check-in with the Main Office staff. We will assist you with the dismissal of your child. If you are dismissing your child after 2:35PM, you can make your way directly to your child’s homeroom, and the teacher will dismiss your child to you.

If you have any questions regarding this procedure, please contact the Main Office staff.

Sincerely,

Nathan Fellman
Assistant Principal, 8th Grade

Other information on your lanyard will include your lunch selection and if your student will be leaving campus with you [“ride with parent”].

Lunch for all parents and students is located in the SNHU Dining Center. As you enter the building you will be directed to your lunch pick-up. Once you pick up your lunch you may sit where ever you like (upstairs or downstairs). If you are bringing a brown bag lunch you will also dine in the SNHU Dining Center.

Please note whether your child is taking the bus back to Lurgio for dismissal or if you chose “ride with parent". WE ONLY HAVE SPACE ON THE BUSES FOR STUDENTS THAT SELECTED “RIDE BUS”. Lurgio's Got Talent Show - CANCELLED TONIGHT

The Lurgio's Got Talent Show that was rescheduled for this evening,Thursday April 13th, is canceled.  After much discussion and deliberation CBY@BHS had to make this VERY difficult decision.

Many acts removed themselves last minute, leaving few acts to perform.  We understand you may have been looking forward to the event or rearranged your schedule, we deeply apologize for the inconvenience. The students of CBY@BHS worked hard to plan and prepare for the event, but felt this was the best for everyone involved.

CBY@BHS is a group of students that plan, implement and evaluate each event they are involved with. Each situation is a learning experience for the students. They have already been discussing how similar situations can be avoided in the future.

Again, we deeply apologize for any inconvenience.
Thank you for your understanding.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact info@cbynh.org.

Thank you again,

MIS/RAL 6th to 7th Registration Night on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 6:00PM - Lurgio Media Center

March 24, 2017

Dear Parent/Guardian,

The administration and staff of the Lurgio Middle School are excited to welcome the incoming seventh grade class. We are committed to building a successful two years for all our students, and that begins with the thoughtful and deliberate course registration process that you have already begun.

Attending middle school is a very important step as students develop their academic and organizational skills. At the middle level, students and parents begin to have additional options for course selection. The first area where students have significant choices is in Mathematics. Your child’s sixth grade teacher will make a recommendation about which course is the best fit. Please carefully consider these teacher recommendations, which will be available online on March 28, 2017, the same day you can register your child for classes. You can also use these helpful descriptions (click here) of students who are successful in each course when considering these options.

The second area of significant choice is between a World Language and Academic Support. Many students choose to take on the additional challenge of beginning a high school World Language in seventh grade, but others choose instead to focus on their study skills and executive functioning. Please consider these descriptions (click here) of students who are successful in the different courses to help you as you decide which course is right for your child.

Course selection is the primary driving factor in pod placement. Additionally, we work with the McKelvie leadership and guidance team to form pods that create successful learning environments for all our students. Because of the complexity of balancing scheduling with pod configuration, we are not able to honor specific teacher, pod, or friend requests. We are confident that each of our pods is fully capable of meeting your child’s needs, and all of our teachers look forward to watching your child thrive in the 7th grade.

If you have questions or you would enjoy some assistance with course registration, Lurgio Middle School will be hosting a rising 7th grade registration night on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 6:00PM in the Lurgio Middle School Media Center.

If you have questions or concerns about course registration, please do not hesitate to contact me at joycee@sau25.net.

Sincerely,

Ed Joyce, Principal

Let the Madness begin! We need some (A LOT!) of volunteers to make this event a great success for all! This is one for the Dads, as well as the Moms.
Friday, April 7 from 7:00pm - MIDNIGHT
There will be inflatable obstacles, a mechanical bull, large tricycles, movies, and lots of yummy treats! There are 2 shifts of volunteers needed: 6:30 - 9:30 pm or 9:00 - midnight. Volunteers will be supervising in the gym at the inflatables, at the bull, serving pizza and drinks, making cotton candy, popcorn and sno-cones. Have an area of expertise? Let us know! Torn between cotton candy and mechanical bull? We will rotate positions so you can supervise more than 1!!

And, while the hours of 7:00 - midnight are for the kids, I have it on good authority that the gym will open at 6:15 for volunteers to try out the fun.
